1 About the programme

About the Open Call

The Collaborative Research Grants 2022 programme supported joint research and development projects between Montenegrin businesses and knowledge organisations. The programme aimed to strengthen links between industry and academia, accelerate technology transfer, and enhance the scientific and innovation capacity of the country.

Grant Amount

From EUR 80,000 to EUR 250,000 per consortium project.

2 Eligible applicants

Consortia consisting of at least one business entity (micro, small or medium enterprise registered in Montenegro) and at least one research or knowledge organisation (accredited university, public research institute or recognised NGO). One member must be designated as lead applicant.

4 How to apply

Consortium applications were submitted through the online portal at fondzainovacije.me by the designated lead applicant. The application package included the joint application form, consortium agreement, research plan with clear milestones, CVs of all key researchers and financial documentation for all consortium members.

5 Questions & Answers

The Collaborative Grants programme supports joint R&D projects between businesses and research or knowledge organisations. The aim is to foster technology transfer, increase research commercialisation, and develop innovative products through industry-academia collaboration.

Each consortium must include at least one business entity (micro, small or medium enterprise registered in Montenegro) and at least one research or knowledge organisation. One consortium member must be designated as the lead applicant responsible for coordination and reporting.

The maximum grant per consortium is EUR 150,000. Projects must demonstrate clear innovation potential and a credible plan for commercialisation or practical application of the research results.
